Using Coupons: When Not To Buy The Product
While purchasing your groceries and household products coupons are often a great way to save money. However, there are some instances where it wouldn’t be beneficial to buy the product which you have a coupon for.
One such situation where it wouldn’t be advisable to purchase a product even if you have a coupon would be if you don’t truly have a need or use for the product. Coupons are meant to save money and if you are only purchasing the item to be able to save what the coupon allows you, are you really saving any money at all?
Another situation where you wouldn’t buy the product with a coupon would be if the store brand is cheaper. In most cases the store brand of a product is the same quality of the name brand item and is often cheaper even if you have a coupon for the same product. Unless you absolutely won’t budge on purchasing the name brand product, don’t buy the product you have the coupon for.
The last situation where it wouldn’t be wise to buy the product you have the coupon for would be if you already have enough of the product at home. While buying items at a discount is always nice, there is such a thing as buying too much of an item.
